Because Eventually I Have To Die, Maybe
Surprise Birthday Trip
I found out that I am going to Vancouver for four days as my birthday present! Yay! I’ve never been to Vancouver which is apparently really weird for someone who lives in Alberta. I’ve been to Victoria… doesn’t that count for anything? I suppose not. I am quite excited to go to Vancouver, where the mountains and water meet. I have a short list of things I want to do while I’m there, such as go to Stanley Park, see the UBC campus, and see the water (generally haha). We have a nice hotel in the downtown area, so we are situated in a wonderful central position to everything!
I also get to cross two things off with this trip, if all goes according to plan.
#518 Fly over the Rocky Mountains sitting in the window seat
#498 See the sun set over the Pacific Ocean
I don’t have anything else Vancouver specific on my list, sadly, but I’m sure I will have tons of fun with Adam while I am there. I leave this evening, and I’ll have access to a computer the whole time, so I will be blogging! Check my twitter account for updates as well.

Vancouver Bound

Not a whole lot to report, sadly. The onset of winter turns me into a sloth-like creature who fantasizes about ways she could turn her bed into a person, and then legally marry that person she made out of her bed. My diet also turns into something resembling a dessert menu. The only real thing
New Tattoo

Much to the dismay of grandmothers everywhere, I decided to go ahead with my 5th and by far largest tattoo. I booked it months ago with Karrie Arthurs at local custom shop Blackbird Electric after my friend recommended her work. I have little else to say other than god damn:

Forgive my ridiculous lack of posting. There is not excuse for laziness…pure, consuming, indulgent laziness. I did make it out to Kelowna for a rather short, but incredibly relaxing trip. Adam and I just hung out and took in the beautiful surroundings. I did get to see the Spotted Lake near Osoyoos, which was pretty
A Beginner’s Guide to NYC

After a sleepless 12 hour over night Greyhound stint, stuck sitting next to the bathroom, Manhattan can seem a little daunting the first time you see it from a distance. And from there, it only gets worse. You climb off the bus into the August heat, trying to find the right Subway entrance. You have

Irma is possibly the best photo subject in the world. This is from our travels to NYC, the Central Library in particular. Upon finding she was actually a donor to the Library she got over excited and panned for the camera.
Thanks But No Thanks: The Calgary Stampede

Last summer I packed up my school bag and an over-sized purse, met my friend Chris at the airport and took off for a month. I roamed through Montreal, Toronto, Guelph, Oakville, Kingston and Manhattan. I took the Greyhound, VIA rail and the Metro. I crashed on couches, slept in cramped, stinking hostels, and rested

This is a new feature I’m starting. Through Twitter and StumbleUpon I end up reading a ton of articles ever week that are relevant to my life list. Some are just other life lists, some are travel blogs, and some are how to guides for silly things. They give me inspiration, a good laugh, or

Does going to Kelowna even count as a vacation when you live in Calgary? I’m serious. I read all these blogs about people going everywhere and anywhere, staying months in exotic locals, eating interesting food, meeting people from all over. Me? I’m going to Kelowna. I’m trying really hard not to complain, Kelowna is beautiful,
Halifax

The trip to Halifax was interesting. It wasn’t my choice to go out there, more of a last minute decision to accompany my boyfriend to see his extended family. The trip was very nice, not just for the sights but for having been able to meet his amazing and generous family. We stayed in an

About a month ago Adam and found ourselves standing in a Flight Centre office, waiting for the next available agent. After weeks of fruitless and confusing searching on the internet for a nice all-inclusive resort somewhere warm we had given up and were looking for help. Expedia, Travelocity and even the Flight Centre’s own website
